Sake Club

Sake Club, not to be confused with the clubbish Saki on the main strip in Adams Morgan, is a sushi restaurant located in Woodley Park at 2635 Connecticut Ave.

Cost – $$

Service – A-
I have always found the service to be pretty good at Sake Club. The hostess is always courteous and friendly and the wait staff are quite good as well.

Food – B+
I have heard some mixed things about Sake Club but I’ve always really enjoyed the sushi when I’ve eaten there and I’m pretty picky when it comes to sushi. There aren’t a lot of places in DC that strike me as having fundamentally superior sushi. Maybe Sushi-Ko.

Decor – A-
There is a lot to like about the decor in Sake Club. The lighting is quite good as is the general decor of the place. Even the small details that only matter to a small percentage of people – the tabletop fixtures, dining ware, etc. – are cared for. The only criticism I would have on the place is that the sense of privacy isn’t always there. Sometimes you feel like your neighbors can hear every single bit of your conversation and vice-versa.

Feel – B
I like Sake Club, so I can’t quite understand why it isn’t more popular amongst DC’s younger denizens. I get the feeling that it is mostly inhabited by the Woodley Park / upper Dupont Circle middle-aged crowd.

This has been my experience at:

    Saki Club
2635 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington 20008
Btwn. Woodley Rd & Calvert St NW

My girlfriend and had dinner there in January. The place is nice the service is ok. The food is not very good.

Oh, and we got food poisoning from there, both spent two days in bed.

Oh and when we told the manager Jode we got food poisoning he said “really, that has not happened for a while!!!!” Promised us our money back ($120), gave us the run around for 2 months then said my LAWYER wants proof of your food poisoning.

In conclusion we used love sushi and they ruined it for us! Thanks Saki Club.

Don’t confuse with Saki Club on 18th Street nearby, that place is good.

[…] Sake Club – Not to be confused with the once-cool Sake in Adams Morgan, Sake Club is a stylish little restaurant in Woodley Park that is Korean-owned and has a great sushi chef.  The ambiance at the venue is also great so they get extra points for that. […]
