Whomever said DC doesn’t have any true technological innovation (it might have been me) is obviously ignorant of the fact that the last few years have seen some pretty significant traction in the local start-up scene.

M Squared is the latest start-up I’ve stumbled across that has is taking a fresh look at an entrenched industry.  I chatted with the founders recently and they shared their story with me.

Why did you start M Squared?

We started M Squared because we were frustrated with how out-of-touch many traditional real estate brokerages were with today’s marketplace, both in terms of consumer and agent offerings.  You know how Apple revolutionized personal computers and made them more consumer focused, easy to use, intuitive and just plan cool?  In a nutshell, we’re doing the same for the real estate industry.
